Terrestrial Toxicology
Terrestrial Toxicology
Springborn offers a full terrestrial toxicology testing program with studies routinely performed on test organisms including terrestrial plants, beneficial arthropods, terrestrial insects and invertebrates and soil microflora. By taking advantage of Springborn's sophisticated chemistry instrumentation and environmental fate laboratories, studies may also incorporate analytical chemistry and residue analysis, as well as the fate of the test substances, especially in the higher tier tests. Springborn also has the expertise necessary to design unique studies to meet your specific testing needs. Springborn's Wareham laboratory maintains two free-standing greenhouses with a growing area of over 1100 square feet.
Springborn was one of the first laboratories to introduce reproduction tests with the red manure worm (Eisenia fetida). In addition, we developed a test system for bee research which closely simulates natural organism behavior observed within the hive by allowing for direct and continuous contact between the test organisms (worker honeybees) and a queen honeybee.
