REACH Testing
REACH Regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) is near adoption and begin enforcement on 1 June 2007. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) expects manufacturers and importers of 1 tonne or more of any chemical substance to begin pre-registration near 1 June 2008. Once in force, REACH will require the registration, over a period of 11 years of at least 30,000 chemical substances currently in use today, a process which will allow to fill information gaps on the hazards of substances and to identify appropriate risk management measures to ensure their safe use.
