Springborn Smithers Laboratories is a leading Contract Research Organization that provides customized testing services for the pharmaceutical, veterinary, agriculture and crop protection, and specialty and industrial chemical industries. Our testing services include: avian toxicology, ecotoxicology, environmental fate and metabolism, microbiology, product chemistry, analytical services and regulatory consulting services. Other programs include product stewardship testing, ecological risk assessment, effluent and hazardous waste testing, and customized studies to address special product liability or regulatory concerns.
We are a full service CRO with the dedicated staffing and capacity to meet the ever changing demands of our clients, yet we provide the personalized services that meet client expectations. We serve a global client base including North America, Asia and Europe and have all the required official accreditations necessary to provide regulatory studies for all OECD countries. We conduct studies to support U.S. EPA, U.S. FDA, Canada, EU, EMEA and Japan product registrations in full compliance with all Good Laboratory Practice Regulations.
Springborn Smithers Laboratories (SSL) was established in 1969. The Smithers Group of Akron, Ohio acquired Springborn Smithers Laboratories, LLC, which includes North American Research centers in Wareham, Massachusetts and Snow Camp, North Carolina and an international research center located in Horn, Switzerland. The Smithers Group consists of Smithers Scientific Services, Inc., Smithers Quality Assessments, Inc., Smithers Rapra Technologies and Synomics Pharma Services. The research centers in Massachusetts and Switzerland perform the ecotoxicology, analytical chemistry, physical/chemical properties and environmental fate and microbiological programs, while our North Carolina research center conducts the avian and wildlife toxicology exclusively.
